Realising potential through partnership

Ian Wright: Facilities and Safety Committee Chair

When a steering group was established to explore and develop the concept of expanding the original 3-school Faringdon Academy of Schools to encompass other primary schools from the Partnership, I volunteered to join the Committee and thoroughly enjoyed helping to overcome the challenges faced. When the 8-School Multi-Academy Trust was inaugurated in November 2013, I volunteered for and was appointed as a Director. I assumed the chair of the Safety and Facilities Sub-Committee of the Academy Board in October 2015.


Keen to become involved in furthering the improvement of educational attainment, I had become a Parent Governor at Watchfield Primary School in June 2012, and Chair the Local Governing Body. I retired from the Royal Air Force in 2012 after a 21-year career specialising in infrastructure, facilities management, personnel and executive roles, and I am now the Business and Operations Manager of a Department at the University of Oxford.
